Infection prevention and control in the workplace aims to prevent pathogens from being passed from one person to another. The foundation of good infection control is to assume that everyone is potentially infectious.

Basic infection control procedures include hand washing and keeping the workplace clean. This comprehensive infection prevention and control course provides all health and social care workers with practical knowledge and skills to effectively manage infections in the workplace.

This training course should be completed by those who work in health and social care services, including:

Aims of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop an awareness to effectively manage infections in the workplace and understand the importance of health and hygiene, personal protective equipment and safe handling of clinical waste.

  • Understand the role and structure of infection prevention and control

  • Demonstrate ways to ensure that your own health and hygiene do not pose a risk to an individual or to others at work
